Default Twin eggs

Well I was trimming my azureus tank today and came across a batch of eggs (heard the male calling like crazy all day yesterday), and upon closer inspection there is 3 sets of twin eggs. 2 of them look ok (only time will tell of course), but the other, circled in red is obviously bad. Pretty weird as I've never had any frogs lay them before although I've seen pics and heard stories of others who have had them. Well here's a pic I snapped, enjoy!

From what I hear, the eggs get "pushed together" when laid. Somewhat common.

Regina egg.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Just took me by surprise cause this has never happened to any of my frogs before and the first time I see it there are 3 like that. It was an abnormally large clutch for her to boot. Awesome pictures you have there. I wish I had a decent camera.

The large clutch may explain the 'pushing together' end of it. It is interesting when it happens.

That's probably what happened, since she normally lays only about 6 or 7. Thanks for the info.

I've had this happen several times with my Auratus and Azureus, and it's exactly what Rich said. Mine have all morphed out just fine. From what I've been told, it would analogous to fraternal twins -- they are not identical, they just share the same egg sac.

Right, very analogous to fraternal twins, but the whole clutch would be also.
The term 'twins' is usually used when talking about animals which are born, not hatched.
On a side note. I just pulled a clutch of terribilis eggs and found a 'pushed' egg in the clutch. That may be the first time I have noticed it in terribilis eggs.

We have a saying on another board I belong to...
"Pics, or it never happened."

That's one I have never seen. Seriously though, take a pic or two if you can.
