Male Visit Tree Walkers!
Default Herp Magazine list

You all know how I love lists and info....

Let's try to list all the exotic animals magazines over the years...domestic and foreign that either was devoted to frogs or had the occassional frog article and the country of publication. I'll start....

The Vivarium - US out of print since ?

Reptilia - Spain, I think

Reptiles Magazine - US Available at almost all Borders and Barnes and Noble bookstores.

Leaf Litter- online US frog publication - I wish this one would be available in actual print! It's a great effort available WHEN...not if, you join TWI.

Dendrobatidae Nederland

There was also Reptile Hobbyist, published by TFH from 1995-2001.

Anyone else that knows of any other magazines....please list.

Here's a unique magazine that is actually on the shelves at most SoFl bookstores.

Australian "Scales and Tails"

http://www.scalesandtails.com.au/

My friend Bill Love recently went over there as a guest speaker on Herp Photography and said that the entire country is about 10 years behind the U.S in terms of public, or hobby interest in Herps. Would that then be about 20 years behind Europe?

They cannot own ANY foreign or non native animals, I believe. Think about that next time you go to a US Reptile show.

Black Jungle has this one.

Kinda pricey though.
Maybe someone can buy a copy and let us know if 20 bucks plus shipping is worth it.

I have the first issue. It's a great smaller size with nice glossy photos. All photos of frogs or landscapes are very well taken.

Only every other page is in English though.

That mag is produced by Benjamin Schwarz - Germany.
