Male Visit Tree Walkers!
Default The Dark Side - 10g Lamasi Vert

I am sure you folks are going to wonder where I came from with all these different set ups... but the truth is that I went from 0 to 60 with this hobby and have grown to love it almost instantly. I am the type of person who goes all-out when I decide to do something; I learn quickly and apply myself wholly to a new project.

That being said I have recently created my first vertical vivarium using a standard AGA tank, glass top hinge with some spare pieces of glass, and a piece of aluminum grating (Krylon Fusion'd black & silicon coated). I did a custom background using wood, great stuff, and coco fiber / fir mulch and have had the viv set up for about a month. I just recently added some clippings and bromeliads.

I nicknamed this viv "The Dark Side" because I used dark bromeliads. The reason I went dark with the broms is because the thumbs I want to keep (Green Lamasi) are going to really stand out against them! The viv is designed to compliment the frogs not just in husbandry, but in color as well.

I have only had time to take a photo with my phone, so pardon the quality!
Here it is before I get the frogs (waiting a while longer to allow a springtail culture to thrive).

Thanks for checking it out!

Your viv looks wicked, TJ!

Those broms are stunning and the Green Lamasi will stand out alright!

What is fir mulch? I've heard or fir bark, but not mulch.

4 bulb high output T5 should be enough

If not I have other lighting systems I can either add to, or replace it with.

Here are a few more photos of the broms up close I moved the fireball further back and a little higher up to proved better lighting for the plants below; I didn't take another photo of it on it's own.
