You can use the height of your pupae as an indication of too/dry vs. too/wet. The more moist your media, the higher the larvae pupate on the sides.

I am a big fan of this product, it produces well. The biggest drawback is price and smell. Mine seem to turn rip at three weeks. Through years I have used Carolina, my own, Josh's, and now Repashy. It is a product I believe in, and one of commercial medias I recommend (SuperFly and Josh's).

I will give you recipe a try sometime Beth, right now I have about 40LB of SuperFly.

I will be happy to try your media mix, I have been really happy with mine, doesnt smell and keeps producing for a while.
